Dear All,
I would like to draw your attention to the following event:
Between February 12 and 15, WISER and the STS-AFRICA Network will be hosting a workshop to promote the development of Science and Technology Studies on the African continent. The details of the workshop, including a full schedule of the sessions, are available here.
On Wednesday, February 12, at 4:00pm Richard Rottenburg of the University of Halle will present a keynote lecture on “Travelling Technologies, Institutions, Critique”.
And on Thursday, February 13, also at 4:00pm We will host a Public Roundtable on "Techno-Fantasies or Liberation: can science and technology remedy the problems of post-colonial Africa?" Discussants will include Keith Breckenridge, Gabrielle Hecht, Clapperton Chakantsa Mavhunga, Pritibha Mistry, and Lea Velho.
Both events will take place in the WISER Seminar Room on the 6th Floor of the Richard Ward Building, on the Wits Main Campus.
All are welcome to these public sessions.
