LINKAGE OF 2011 CENSUS DATA TO UK LONGITUDINAL STUDIES,
LAUNCH EVENT: Church House, Westminster, Thursday 6th March 2014
*apologies for cross-posting*
The three UK Longitudinal Studies (ONS LS, NILS and SLS) represent a significant and unique research resource, drawing together decades of follow-up of census and other administrative and health datasets for a large sample of the UK population.
Once a decade these studies are substantially updated with the addition of new census data. We are very pleased to announce an event marking the linkage of 2011 census data into the Studies. Come along to our launch event to hear more about the data, the linkage process and some of the research which has already been carried out using the new census data.
The launch event will also include introductions to two important new methodological advances:
- users can now analyse data from more than one study in a single analysis using eDatashield methodology
- the development of synthetic data for the first time allows users to download their dataset and fully develop their analyses before making the trip to a safe setting
