Film and Television Studies at The University of Glasgow is delighted to announce the launch of a new practice-based MSc in Filmmaking and Media Arts, to commence in the 2014-15 academic year.

The MSc in Filmmaking and Media Arts at Glasgow aims to develop in students a portfolio of skills required in the contemporary screen-based media industries. It is aimed at filmmakers, freelance media producers and media artists seeking to develop their career and learn key industry skills. Teaching in the programme includes practical workshops, industry master-classes and history and theory modules, designed to link theory, technical skills and artistic practice.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
