Brill publishes J.B. Metzler’s Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit Online

Brill, the international scholarly publisher, acquires the electronic rights to the prestigious reference work Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit and the rights to the English translation in print and online from J.B. Metzler Verlag (Stuttgart/Weimar), effective immediately.
The recently completed German print version of the 16-volume reference work, the Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit, was initiated by J.B. Metzler Verlag in 2005. The volumes include 3,500 entries from A-Z, 1,500 illustrations, and is a collaborative work of over 1,300 renowned authors (enzyklopaedie-der-neuzeit.de<http://www.enzyklopaedie-der-neuzeit.de/>).
Brill will make the Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit available online as of April 2014 on its reference works platform (referenceworks.brillonline.com<http://referenceworks.brillonline.com/>). Alongside the Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit, the English translation, Encyclopedia of Early Modern History, will be accessible online over time, with the first English articles published in 2014. Early in 2015, the first print volumes of the English translation of the encyclopedia will become available and offered separately.
