Dear All
This is a Call for Papers for a workshop on resettlement that we are organising at the Nordic Migration Research Conference in Copenhagen, August 13th-15th. Please see the abstract of the workshop below.
We would be happy to gather a number of contributions that address various aspects of the resettlement process. Researchers focusing on the European context are particularly encouraged to send an abstract.
Deadline for sending abstracts is March 15th.

Workshop Proposal: Researching the Resettlement of Refugees
Apart from repatriation and local integration, resettlement is one of three durable solutions to refugees fleeing conflict zones. Sweden is one of the countries that has accepted resettled refugees from various different countries and conflict situations since 1950, and today is the EU country with the highest quota (1,900). In total the EU-countries resettle 5,800 refugees per year; although there are movements to increase this number led by e.g. the European Resettlement Network.
While refugee resettlement has been practiced and researched for a long time in countries like the USA, Canada and Australia, in the European context it remains largely under-researched. Research on refugee resettlement in a European context has been sparse until now, and has mostly concentrated on labour market integration.
This panel welcomes contributions on refugee resettlement from various theoretical and methodological angles and perspectives that will shine light on different aspects of resettlement as well as on the European context.
The goal is to publish a special issue on refugee resettlement from a European perspective.
