*With apologies for cross-posting*

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to share with you the following announcement, which has been issued by the Collections Trust today:

Collections Trust Announces Launch of SPECTRUM Digital Asset Management Partners Scheme

A new SPECTRUM DAM Partner scheme for suppliers of Digital Asset Management software has been formally launched by Collections Trust. The first company to join is Extensis.

Full details of the Partners Scheme are online at http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/spectrum-dam-partners.

If you are a company interested in joining the scheme, information on membership is available from this page <http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/spectrum-dam-partner> .

The new scheme supports SPECTRUM DAM. This is the best practice guide to integrating Digital Asset Management into existing Collections Management practice based on, or compatible with, the SPECTRUM Standard.

For an annual fee, SPECTRUM DAM Partners receive a range of benefits, including a commercial licence to reference SPECTRUM DAM content within their products.

First partner Extensis has developed the Portfolio Server DAM solution with installations in a wide number of heritage organisations, including the Courtauld Institute in London and the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge.

Richard Bamford, Extensis' EMEA Business Director says: "Extensis is proud to be the first DAM vendor to join the SPECTRUM DAM Partner scheme. We are committed to integrating DAMs with a wide variety of different CMS vendors by making use of the Portfolio API and ensuring metadata never has to be re-keyed into multiple systems".

Nick Poole, Chief Executive of Collections Trust agrees: "Working in partnership with leading suppliers such as Extensis, Collections Trust seeks to support museums in understanding the importance of integrating DAM into their Collections Management practice. The new SPECTRUM DAM Partnership offers confidence to museums in the procurement of software and enhanced credibility to vendors in their association with a trusted, industry-wide standard".

"Collections Trust believes the creation, management, publication and preservation of digital assets have become core functions to cultural organisations. Digital output, whether born-digital or digitised from analogue sources, forms an increasingly significant proportion of the heritage of future generations".

Information about every aspect of SPECTRUM is available on the Collections Link website at http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/spectrum.
