Dear all,
I've incorporated some of the points that were made about maternity leave at the last WIGS AGM in an article in this week's Times Higher: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/features/no-kidding-research-is-as-demanding-as-a-newborn/2010631.article
It may be a useful reference point both for individuals dealing with these sorts of issues in their own institutions, and for organisations like WIGS if we are called upon in the future to make statements concerning REF and maternity leave. I understand the editors are also planning a follow-up piece that will look at diverging practices re pay and take-up of maternity leave across UK HEIs. That could be well worth looking out for too.
Best,
Rebecca
