Sport, Health and Wellbeing: a Conversation about Equality and Fairness is an event to celebrate International Women’s Day. This day conference from 10.00-17.00 draws together advocates, educators, policy-makers, practitioners and researchers to build networks between theory, policy and practice across sport, health and active recreation.
Leading authorities in sport, health and wellbeing will identify the challenges and opportunities for gender equality in sport and health in a day that draws attention to inequality and offers hope for a fairer society. Keynote speakers will present critical insights in a series of presentations interspersed with opportunities for conversation, networking and mentoring.
The conference will be followed by a drinks reception from 17.00-18.00 to promote further networking and collaborative working.
The University of St Mark & St John is home to one of the most comprehensive programmes of sport participation, performance and education of any UK University and is renowned for its world-class facilities. Conference delegates will be issued with a free pass to use the university’s sport facilities, including the swimming pool and 80 station fitness studio on the day before, day of and day after the conference.
