Hello, Siva.
From what I know, there is a lot of useful information on the SPM Website:
- Regarding installation software installation: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/SPM In sum, you'll need Matlab installed. Then you download the proper version of SPM (I'd recommend SPM8: http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/software/spm8/ , click on "registration form"). Once on your computer, remember to "add to path" SPM folders in MATLAB. Then you run "spm fmri" to run the fMRI version of SPM.
- Regarding using the software, several things exist. On the SPM website you have some lectures in video that give you some ideas about it (http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/course/video/), as well as a manual (http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/doc/manual.pdf) and chapter of a book (http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/doc/books/hbf2/).
You can also follow some lectures (http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/course/#london but you'll have to wait a little), or you'll find some step-by-step slides using Google.
- Finally, regarding datasets, you'll find a manual attached with each of them that explains you how to proceed (see http://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/data/)
Hopes this help,
Maxime
