Training for Heritage Professionals:
Social Media and the Historic Environment, Oxford, 20 February 2014

Are you looking for inspiration, a healthy dose of realism, and the practical tools that will help you to use social media to connect with audiences and develop their engagement with the historic environment?

To better understand current practice and help contribute to best practice, English Heritage has commissioned several case studies on how social media is being used by historic environment professionals. These studies cover a range of subjects, including: audience development; resourcing; developing a strategy and policy for using social media; and the archiving of social media content. The case studies will soon be available on the HELM website.

To complement these case studies we are running a one-day course on Thursday 20 February 2014 in collaboration with Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. This course will include presentations from the case study authors and others, on how to determine if you need to use social media, how to get started, understanding the resources required, approaches to measuring impact, and archiving social media.

For further information and to book your place on the course: www.conted.ox.ac.uk/V400-327
