GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS at S.labs, Bangalore
Starting May 2014

We have few Two-year fellowships available for deserving and outstanding
graduates who want to develop hands-on experience with multidisciplinary
innovation, design thinking, business thinking and a capability of managing
such design innovation work with external clients. As part of this
fellowship, you will spend approximately 50% of your time on client or labs
projects, 30% on your own research interests picked from the labs theme
research areas and 20% on career development. Your responsibilities will
include but not be limited to developing user and design research plan,
conducting research and converting the research findings into actionable
insights, discovering, interpreting and communicating design insights and
opportunities, and contributing to all phases of design, planning
validation research to help determine how interested both the customers and
line-of-business end users are in the planned product capabilities, and to
refine design constraints for delivering compelling user experiences. A
critical element of these roles is to deliver insights – verbally and
visually - in a way that generates empathy, emotion, and engagement from
the overall team and our clients. Candidates must have strong presenting,
verbal and written skills.

Fresh masters or doctoral degree graduates from top schools in any of the
design fields such as industrial design, business design, visual design,
interaction design, UX design and human factors engineering are preferred.
Candidates must truly believe in a Human-centered approach to design and be
comfortable going out into the world for inspiration. They understand basic
Human Centered Design methodology, are comfortable with ambiguity and want
to push design methodologies. Must be prepared to plan and immerse into
user research to discover insights first hand.

If you are interested in exploring opportunities with us as a fellow,
please send your resume, innovation/design portfolio and a statement (not
to exceed 1000 words) on why you want to do fellowship at s.labs, to labs@
srishti.ac.in -- Attn: Girish Prabhu, Director: Innovation, Srishti Labs
with a Subject Line: Fellowship Position at Srishti Labs)

----- About S.labs (lhttp://labs.srishti.ac.in/index.html) : Growing out of
Srishti’s experience working with industry, Srishti Labs was conceived in
2009 as a hybrid, bridge organization that blends the creative energy of
students with the disciplined expertise of industry professionals. Using
ethnographic research the lab deepens its engagement and knowledge of
people, society and market which naturally flows into its
designexploration, concept development and business model innovation.
Using
its linkage through Srishti to design practitioners, it is growing a deep
understanding of successful well designed products and services in this
emerging market context. The lab is continuously building its emerging
society knowledge of work, play, learning, health, domestic life, friends
and family, and life with meaning which provides the background for
bringing the stories of people into innovation teams. Insights, value
propositions and new meaning based on this foundation yield new products
and services which have a stronger match with this market. The lab delivers
it services through a variety of design studios and consultancies.
