Dear all
I quite agree with the comments shared so far and think that, as Martin suggests, this is exactly the kind of issue where MECCSA can act collectively. I tweeted last night during the Newsnight piece with a certain degree of despair and frustration at the ill-informed comments de Botton was making (and which must surely offend GCSE/A level teachers and FE colleagues, as much as university lecturers) and was being given a platform from which to speak by Newsnight. Maire’s suggestion of someone from MECCSA contacting Newsnight seems sensible.
