Dear all,
I have found this debate interesting but I can see the point being made.
Would it be possible to set up a discussion forum through somewhere such as Linked In ? I'm in several Linked In networks including one on Digital Humanities which includes some pretty interesting stuff. It could be on Media Education for example - The networks are international but this would provide an added perspective perhaps ?

Perhaps we need a debate (somewhere - probably not on the list itself) about what the purpose of the list is. I have personally found this debate useful and interesting (despite the general assumption that everyone is familiar with the ins and outs of the English education system).
Cheers
Hugh

Please, as requested before, could those interested in continuing this debate reply to each other, and not to all?
Thanks

Certainly not. But it's avoidable and unnecessary work if only you would have your conversations in private rather than on a public mailing list.

Damn sight more interesting than most of the endless announcements we all trawl through on lists such as this in most cases. Is hitting the delete key such hard work?

I second this (see below).
If this issue is so terribly interesting to some of you,
then PLEASE click "reply" rather than "reply all".
It's really not THAT difficult.

After deleting 10 emails about Alain de Botton from my inbox I'm wondering when the meccsa mailing list became a discussion forum.
Would it be possible for those deeply invested in this issue to email
each other rather than everyone?
