Hi Donna
Great project. I presume you've been in touch with the fellow Nominet Trust
funded folk at We Are What We Do? I know they've done some work in this
area and Alex from Historypin is on this list.
Michael has mentioned Europeana, plus there are lots of other
museum-related providers both at the institutional and aggregator level,
but I'd also throw in Flickr and specifically The Commons - Flickr probably
has a greater focus around participation. It also has a powerful API and
potentially rich metadata related to time and place, no doubt things which
will be important in order to focus in on relevant content for you. If you
want any further advice on that or want some examples do feel free to drop
me a note.
James
