Visit to the Goldsmiths' Company Library
Date: Wednesday 19th March 2014
Time: 10.30 - 12.00
The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London. Since 1300, the Company has been responsible for testing the quality of gold, silver and, more recently, platinum and palladium. It also has an important role in supporting and promoting excellence in the industry. The Library was established in the 1950s and its collections include over 15,000 journals, images and films in addition to over 8000 books. There is also a large archives collection. The Library is open to the public by appointment and assists researchers with anything relating to the gold and silver industry, including family history enquiries. Our visit, conducted by the Librarian and the Assistant Librarian, will include a tour of the magnificent Goldsmiths' Hall (subject to availability), tea & coffee and a tour of the Library with the opportunity to see archive material.
For more information about the Library please visit: http://www.thegoldsmiths.co.uk/library.
