At the University of Birmingham we are currently looking at our content and delivery of information literacy training, not least Induction training.
Over the last two years we have developed and used some generic induction slides, allowing room for adaptation as wished by individual Subject Librarians.
Have others used this approach, and would you be interested in sharing the induction slides you have developed?
Some have already put material on the CILIP Information Literacy Group web page - http://www.informationliteracy.org.uk/teaching-information-literacy-3/teaching-materials/examples-of-resources/ .
Aside from powerpoint, do let us know if a specific technology or other resource (software or hardware, eg ‘clickers’ or Polleverywhere) has proved especially popular with your students.
Thank you,
Jon Andrews and Catherine Robertson,
Library Services, University of Birmingham.”
