Hi,
There are several ways of getting appropriate fieldmaps, so we do not have a single prescription for this. It largely depends on your scanner and local setup as to what is easiest and works best.
On our 3T system we use a GE sequence and acquire two scans, with different TEs that are separated by 2.46ms. It would be reasonable to double this for a 1.5T system, and have a low TE (normally limited by the scanner/sequence) for the first acquisition.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Mark
