Applications are invited for two Research Assistant posts (one for 12 months starting in February 2014 and one for 9 months starting in May 2014) in the School of Management and Business at Aberystwyth University to work on a project funded by NERC’s Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service Sustainability (BESS) programme called ‘Diversity of upland rivers for ecosystem service sustainability’ (DURESS). This is a major project involving six institutions, led by Cardiff University. The successful candidates will work with Professor Mike Christie (Aberystwyth University) to deliver the ‘Valuation’ work package that aims to evaluate the economic benefits / costs associated with changes to provisioning, regulating, and cultural services in UK upland rivers. In addition, the candidates will also be expected to work with the other natural science and policy research being done as part of this project where appropriate.
