We have an ... interesting ... implementation of Voyager, so at present we don't have anything like handy little icons that display in the OPAC (generated by the fixed fields), even though this should be possible even without Aquabrowser, I think. So that's really just us being a bit behind the times--I'm counting on that changing when we migrate.
We also have a lot of "same title in different formats" situations, so not seeing the GMD in the staff module can be frustrating for us on the back end. But at some point we'll have to live with it. I'm expecting we'll do some kind of global data change cleanup project in the future to pull out inappropriate GMDs, or possibly replace GMDs with 336/337/338 even in AACR2 records (if there's any proven usefulness to that--I'm sort of expecting this will be done at various institutions, but we'll wait and see!).

That's interesting Kate, as we are a Voyager library but have not been adding GMD to RDA records. This doesn't seem to affect our searching, frontline staff have been quite happy and there has been no impact on users as far as we can tell. We use the Voyager OPAC (which we call our Newton catalogue) but do also have a discovery layer (Aquabrowser) which many users prefer to use and which does not use GMD at all but rather takes information about format from the Leader/006/007, etc.
