Dear colleagues,
I have an opening for a postdoc in my group at the University of Dundee. People with experience in biomolecular simulations are invited to apply. For further details please see below. I would greatly appreciate if you could forward this information to potential candidates.
Best wishes,
Andrei
----------------
A two-year postdoctoral position in the field of Computational Biophysics is available in the group of Dr Andrei Pisliakov at the University of Dundee, UK. The successful candidate will use biomolecular simulation methods (MD, QM/MM) to study the functioning mechanisms of membrane proteins. Our research is focused on multi-scale modelling of proton and ion pumps, and particularly on the proton translocation processes and energy coupling mechanisms in these biomolecular machines. The position will be situated in the Division of Computational Biology in the new Centre for Translational and Interdisciplinary Research. The University of Dundee’s excellence in “bio” research is internationally recognised as indicated by consistently high ratings in worldwide university rankings.
Applicants must be highly motivated scientists with a passion for understanding fundamental biological systems and processes at the molecular-to-cellular level. They should hold a PhD in computational/theoretical biophysics, chemistry or a related field. Ideal candidates would have prior experience with Linux/Unix, strong scripting skills, and extensive working experience in biomolecular simulations: atomistic or coarse-grained molecular dynamics or quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics. A record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals is required.
Please apply online at http://www.jobs.dundee.ac.uk/, using a job reference number ASE0239. For application please submit your CV with a list of publications, a brief cover letter explaining your interest in and suitability for the position, and contact details of 2-3 referees.
Informal enquiries may be made to Dr Andrei Pisliakov ([log in to unmask]).
Closing date for applications: 30 January 2014.
