Dear list members,
The Institute for Health and Human Development (IHHD) based at University of East London (UK) has been commissioned by Public Health England to undertake a research on workplace wellbeing in the Chinese Business Community.
Workplace wellbeing attempts to improve the general health and wellbeing of the workforce through a range of interventions based on physical activity, healthy eating, and mental health amongst others. This has significant advantages for employers in terms of increased productivity and reduction of absenteeism, and for employees in terms of improved health and wellbeing at work and outside it.
We are exploring the current approach to staff wellbeing in the Chinese business community and the barriers and facilitators to the adoption of workplace wellbeing interventions within the Chinese business community.
We would welcome your help with any or all of the following:
• Identify relevant literature on workplace wellbeing and Chinese owned businesses or more widely on ethnic minority owned businesses and workplace wellbeing as well as topics such as ethnic minority owned businesses and health and safety regulation.
• Identify relevant literature looking at good practice for workplace wellbeing interventions
• Identify other opinion leaders that we could approach to further our knowledge (academics, business associations leaders, policy makers, Chinese owned businesses)
• Identify other organisations, websites, or other sources of information that might be useful.
If you want further details or want to send any information, you can email Dr Marcello Bertotti (Senior Research Fellow at IHHD) [log in to unmask]
In return, we will send you a copy of the report, and a reference list with relevant literature we identified. The deadline for this stage of the project is mid March 2014.
Thank you in advance for your help
Regards
Marcello Bertotti
