I'm very pleased to share details of a new ARA Training Day to be held in LONDON on 10 March:
Performing for the Cameras and the Microphone:
Broadcast Training Day offered by Archives and Records Association (UK & Ireland)
Do you have the skills and confidence to undertake TV or radio interviews?
Communicating the stories held in your collection – and the value of the work you do - is a growing part of our professional skillset. The Explore Your Archive campaign is just one example of how we are seeking the attention of the media in what we do.
The ARA is offering bespoke broadcast training on 10 March in Central London (Fleet Street). You will get expert advice and hands on practice talking about a story from your archive. We hope to secure a YouTube clip of each participant that might feed into future campaigns.
There will be two sessions that day – morning and afternoon. Please state which you would prefer.
This training is heavily subsidised. The cost, including lunch (when morning and afternoon delegates can network) is £60.
Only 10 places are being offered. If you would like to attend please email [log in to unmask] with a note of why you feel the training is right for you. Please include any experience you have already had in talking to camera or to microphone.
(Only one person per service please).
