The Victoria and Albert Museum has just advertised a vacancy for a
part-time, temporary archivist. These are the details:
Archivist
£ 25407 - 30537 Per Annum Part-time pro rata
(21.75 hours per week)
The V&A is the world's leading museum of art and design. We enrich
people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing
knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world.
We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Archivist to work in the
Archive of Art and Design, part of the Word and Image Department at the
V&A. This is a part-time temporary contract (three days a week until 29
December 2014) providing maternity cover.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in
Archives/Information Management, and practical experience of working
with archival collections and their users; some knowledge of the history
of art and design would also be desirable. He/she will be required to
care for and help develop the V&A’s collection of artists’ and
designers’ archives, and to lead the team’s public services.
