Subject: Jocelyn Hay
Many MeCCSA members will be sorry to hear of the death of Jocelyn Hay, just announced on BBC R4 World at One. Jocelyn founded the broadcast consumer organisation, Voice of the Listener and Viewer, VLV, and campaigned dauntlessly for public service broadcasting in the broadest sense, and for the rights of viewers and listeners as citizens. She was an inspirational figure, respected by politicians and public figures on all sides of the political spectrum, and a great friend and inspiration to many of us working in the field of broadcasting and audience research. RIP Jocelyn.
