On the other hand the last vestiges of the former Google News Archive
database seem to have vanished sometime quite quietly from Google as the
advanced search option in Google News no longer includes the option to
search in archive. Date range searches of older dates exclusively produce
no more than a few results at best on broad search topics such as George
Washington.
SCIRUS is also being withdrawn by Elsevier and with it a resource that
searches the quality web along with its journal and book content.
Included in this quality web search, for example, has been digital archive
collections.
