Dear all,

I sent an email to various lists towards the end of last year asking for book ideas for a new library publisher - thank you everyone who sent ideas, they are all on the crowdfunding site http://igg.me/at/librarypress/x/774169 for funders to vote on :)

Now for the begging part - if you'd like to see books like these be published in an affordable way for library and information staff and students, please consider funding us through the crowdfunding site. http://igg.me/at/librarypress/x/774169

We've a fairly low target to reach to make this happen (just £1,000) and we're about 40% there at the moment with just over 3 weeks to go. If we don't reach the target, then we don't receive any of the contributions.

As well as making it possible to launch the publisher by paying some of the upfront costs to get the first couple of books underway and the warm glow you'll get from that, you can also get perks including voting on which books we should work on first, as well as the following:

£ 5 - Recognition both online and in the acknowledgements section of the first book we publish after the campaign ends. You also get a chance to vote which books we publish first! We'll also keep you informed on progress of the campaign and the first books.
£10 - All the above perks, plus an e-version of the first book published.

£25 - All the above perks, plus a print (as well as e-version) of the first book published. Includes shipping worldwide.

£25 - Can't wait for the first book? Then get all the normal acknowledgements, voting, etc. plus a print and e-version of 'Only Connect ... discovery pathways, library explorations, and the information adventure.", my previous book! Includes shipping worldwide.

£50 - Not just one book, but two! Get the first two books published sent to you for free. Plus the normal acknowledgements, voting, etc. Includes shipping worldwide. (All for the price of one "typical" LIS book!)

£65 - You'll get an ebook version of every book we publish for the next 3 years - however many that is! Plus, of course, all the normal acknowledgements, voting, etc.

£75 - Get a print copy of 'Only Connect ...' in full colour (not available printed in colour anywhere else!) to show off the illustrations at their best! Also get print & e versions of the first book published sent to you for free. Plus the normal acknowledgements, voting, etc.

£150 - You'll get a print version of every book we publish for the next 3 years - however many that is! Plus a copy of 'Only Connect ...' to keep you going and, of course, all the normal acknowledgements, voting, etc.

£650 - I'll put on a games for libraries http://gamesforlibraries.blogspot.co.uk/ training event at the location of your choice. Includes all my expenses (UK only - not including travel expenses for international!). Does not include venue / refreshment / etc costs - they'd be for you to arrange. Up to 30 people can attend.

Thank you and sorry for the inevitable cross posting.

Andrew
