Greetings,
It seems to me that this is similar to my research into initiations in
cyberspace. I know from personal experience that a ritual done in a
virtual world and mediated via a computer with the participants
geographically dispersed can be an effective ritual. If this is the case
then perhaps it is not so strange for people to expect exorcisms to work
via other telecommunication mediums. In fact, if you think about it, why
should with a non corporeal entity require proximity on the physical
plane in order to interact with it? We just don't know.
