Subject: Quiet
As hushed white calms the street,
a thin smoke signature shifts blank sky.
Within the home, warm settles the ideas
mainly horizontal, filling the small space.
One who has been heard is listening
to another who releases gentle speech.
A crayon against a square of cardboard
finishes the final leaf of autumn .
As afternoon melds into dusk, snow
threads show in corner light, turn plush on ground.
