Hi Chris
That's great thanks. Is this the same principle for creams and lotions on
the face?

What we need is something that so far as possible has a similar consistency
to the natural hydrolipidic film in the surface layers of the skin. A lotion
fits this description. Thicker creams can be occlusive and result in an
accumulation of 'free water' in the stratum corneum. This can make the skin
more vulnerable to damage due to contact with irritant chemicals.
An added benefit is that the lotion is quickly absorbed into the skin and
does not leave the skin feeling sticky. It is thus more acceptable to the
user.
Hope this explains my comment.
