Assuming they are out of copyright or available under an open license then one of the places you might like to put them would be Wikimedia Commons, that way any relevant films could be embedded in Wikipedia articles. We only support certain open formats<http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Converting_video>but
there are tools like Firefogg that I've been told reformat as part of the upload.
