Assistant/Associate Professor – Graduate Program in Public Health Nutrition

The Department of Nutrition in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University is recruiting a full time faculty member at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor level for a position in its Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program. The M.S. in Public Health Nutrition Program was established in l941 and was the first such program in the United States. The Program enrolls approximately 14 students per year and offers tracks in General Public Health, Maternal & Child Nutrition, and Gerontological Nutrition. The dietetic internship is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Candidates should be an RD with a doctorate in public health nutrition, nutrition or related health field. PhD candidates without a public health doctorate must have an MPH in Nutrition or MS in Public Health Nutrition. The ideal candidate is a PhD RD with peer-reviewed research and funding track record at the early or midcareer level.
Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor should provide a record of scholarly activity, the potential to advance in the field of research, and have some publications in refereed journals.
Candidates for the rank of Associate Professor should have at least one year of work experience, achieved a record of publications in refereed journals, demonstrates teach excellence, assumed leadership roles in professional organizations, and have a national reputation
The individual is expected to develop, monitor, and evaluate student field placements, teach public health nutrition courses, be involved in the administration and management of the Program. CWRU faculty engage in research, teaching and mentoring, and service and have the opportunity to be on a tenure or non-tenure track. Because this program has a central role in fostering public health practice and using public health skills to improve health, status, ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with community constituencies is required. Through its multiple partnerships, the Program has established collaborative networks nationally. Rank will be determined based on qualifications. Secondary appointments in other departments within the University are easily arranged. Salary and benefits are excellent. The anticipated starting date will be mutually agreed upon.
