Contributions are invited for a special issue of Appetite on social influence on eating. The aim of this Special Issue is to provide an overview of the state of the field, update on theoretical developments and stimulate further research. Contributions in the form of original manuscripts describing recent empirical findings are invited. Relevant research topics include, but are not limited to, the influence of social norms, modeling, and social facilitation processes on eating and the role of impression management and social comparison in guiding food choice and intake. Potential contributors should send an abstract of no more than 300 words to the Guest Editor, Peter Herman ([log in to unmask]), by then end of January 2014. Contributors whose abstracts are selected for this Special Issue will be invited to submit a full manuscript by the end of May 2014. Upon, receipt, the manuscripts will be sent out for Peer Review to at least two independent reviewers.
