Hi Keith,
Echoing what john said about Mac's we have been using them here at the
National Museum for 10 or so years as well, we currently have G5 Mac's,
personally I think they are fantastic for imaging and I converted at home
also about 10 years ago and never looked back. As for monitors we are
using EIZO monitors for doing all our colour work and the apple monitor's
that we had have been set up next to the Ezios to let us have two screens
on the go, we donšt use the apple monitors for the colour processing work
but use them for other windows like the tools pallets for photoshop and
for emails, spreadsheets etc
Our IT dept also did not offer any support to start with and now only
offer limited support but the macs are very easy to use and after you get
used to the initial differences they are fab.
Hope that helps
Cheers
Robin
