Hi,
We use Dipscopics bi-level urine QC purchased from Alere for out urine
analysers. We routinely perform fortnightly QC checks and also run QC
after an analyser has been to medical engineering for any maintenance.
We currently don't have analysers on all of our wards which means it's
not too expensive and dipscopics QC has a good shelf life if stored
refrigerated and 30 days shelf life at room temp. To avoid having to
make loads of aliquots for each department, we make 2 and someone form
POCT goes and out and performs the checks. This works well for us
because of the relatively small number of analysers we have (15 in
total) but I can appreciate it might not be the best way to manage
things for Hospitals with many more analysers.
Regards,
Lisa-Marie

Hi Claire,
What QC do you use? This must be very expensive.

This may be the stupid question of the day. Does anyone using the
Clinitek device ,have the option switced on of entering strip lot
number/expiry dates before each test. And how often do you run QC.
