FAO anyone with a degree (any level) from a UK University, and/or anyone doesn't have such a degree but does now work in a non-permanent job at a UK University.
Posted on behalf of Prof. Rosalind Brown-Grant at the University of Leeds; questions to her, please (see below for her e-mail). Leeds would be a great place to do a research fellowship on some variationist aspect of French, I think (Nigel Armstrong is there, for one); and I can personally highly recommend the Leverhulme post-doctoral scheme, having been in it myself. Anyone with questions about the Leverhulme scheme in general (but not Leeds in particular) is welcome to contact me.

Given our recent success in this scheme, we are well placed to offer suitable applicants a supportive and rewarding environment in which to work. eas: Cultural Studies; Film and Visual Culture; History; Language, Linguistics and Translation; Literary Studies; and Social Science. Research proposals specialising just in French as well as those of a more interdisciplinary nature will be welcome.
Our internal deadline for applications is 15 JANUARY 2014. If you are interested in applying to hold a Fellowship at Leeds, please contact the Director of Research in French, Professor Rosalind Brown-Grant ([log in to unmask]), as soon as possible. These expressions of interest should include:
i) a one-page summary of the research proposal which sets out the scholarly context in which the research will be undertaken, the research questions to be addressed, the methodology to be used, and the proposed outcomes of the project;
and
ii) a short CV which also outlines how the proposed research will fit into the research environment of French and the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at Leeds.
If judged suitable at this preliminary stage, candidates will be invited to submit a detailed draft application by 7th February 2014.
