The Faculty of Technology comprises the Leicester Media School, the School of Computer Science and Informatics and the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development. It comprises 165 academic staff and 40 professional services staff. Total faculty turnover is £25m, of which £3.5m is generated from research grants, contracts and commercial activity. There are 2,400 undergraduate taught students, over 300 postgraduate taught students and over 350 postgraduate research students.
This is a challenging career opportunity. You will bring fresh and innovative leadership to this newly formed school. With your support and guidance, the School will be successful in delivering a diverse teaching, learning and research portfolio, across Arts, Design, Humanities and Technology. You will have personal academic standing, meet the criteria for a professorial title and will be able to demonstrate substantial experience of effective leadership of people and programmes and be capable of developing a strategic vision for the new school.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
