Hi Nick,
Is there a dialogue with data.gov.uk? We have just placed our Collection data on the site, having already completed Europeana and Your Paintings streams. Data.gov.uk does include data from DCMS's NDPBs and I believe it is hoped that collection data may be on their one day too. I can put you in touch with data.gov.uk off list if you would like.

Subject: [MCG] BBC signs Memoranda of Understanding with Europeana, ODI, OKFN & Mozilla Foundation
Dear colleagues,
With apologies to those of you that will already have seen this news via other channels, but I thought it was important to flag up via MCG the announcement that the BBC has signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Europeana Foundation, the Open Data Institute, the Open Knowledge Foundation and the Mozilla Foundation to enable them to work together on common priorities including the publication of open data and the promotion of open standards in web development.
I think this is an important step in 'mainstreaming' the role of cultural heritage organisations in publishing open data from their collections, and provides an opportunity to bring collections-related content and information to a far wider audience. For further information, see the Telegraph article on the announcement <http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10472903/BBC-throws-weight-b
ehind-open-data-movement.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&
utm_campaign=market+watch> .
If anyone on list is interested in sharing their collections information as open data, and making it available to Europeana, the simplest way to do this is through the Culture Grid, which is maintained by Knowledge Integration Ltd on behalf of the Collections Trust.
Sharing data through the Culture Grid is simple - we can take structured data and images from your collections system or you can access an online platform and enter them directly yourself. We can then share them with Europeana via a periodic harvest, as well as providing access to a range of useful tools and widgets such as a collections search box generator which you can host on your own website.
All data shared with Europeana is shared under the Europeana Data Exchange Agreement, <http://pro.europeana.eu/web/guest/data-exchange-agreement> which permits Europeana to share it under a CC0 license. We are also currently working with a group of software providers under the SPECTRUM Partners Scheme to embed the capability to share data quickly and easily with Europeana into your Collections Management Systems (as part of the Europeana Inside project - www.europeanainside.eu).
We are always keen to hear from UK museums that want to open up and share their collections information online, so do please drop me a line at this email address if you would like to receive further information.
Yours sincerely,
Nick
