The main objective of the Workshop “Emerging Trends in Information Systems (IS)”
is to provide leading researchers and industry practitioners a forum to present and
discuss the most recent innovations, trends, results, experiences and concerns in
several perspectives of Information Systems including, but not limited to:
- Big data theory and applications, Very Large Business Applications (VLBA),
Corporate information systems and in-memory computing,
- Cloud based corporate information systems,
- Industry-oriented IS solutions (Higher Education and Research,
e-Government, Retail, e-Health, Automotive, Manufacturing,
Transportation systems, Facility Management, Oil and Gas industry, etc.)
- Intelligent Information Systems, Computational Intelligence methods in
Information Systems
- New trends in Business Process Management
- International Research, BRICS countries research in IS
We kindly invite authors to submit the presentation proposals for the topics mentioned above.
Please understand that we can only accept presentations composed in English.
Prospective Special track participants are encouraged to submit full papers after the Workshop.
The full papers will be published in a special issue on “Emerging Trends in IS” in Springer Briefs and
best papers to be selected for publication in leading International Research Journals in Business
Informatics/Management Information Systems area.
The workshop takes place on the 5th of December 2013, followed by the SAP University Alliance
Academic Conference for CIS region on the 6th of December 2013, at the National Research University
Higher School of Economics in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. For the participants who selected by IPC, but are
not able to come to Nizhny Novgorod we will provide a possibility to join the workshop virtually
via a video conference.

Submission should have the following format:

submission deadline: 25 November 2013
Workshop dates: 5-6 December 2013
Full paper submission deadline: 28 February 2014

All the participant of the special track are encouraged to submit full papers after the workshop.
The papers will be published in a Special Issue of Springer Briefs series “Emerging Trends in IS”.

***Travel information***
Nizhny Novgorod is Russia's fifth largest city in Russia. It had a population in 2005 of
1,297,600. It is the economic and cultural center of the vast Volga economic region, and also the
administrative center of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and Volga Federal District.
Nizhny Novgorod is located 400 km to the east from Moscow. It is possible to get to Nizhny Novgorod with
a direct international flight from Frankfurt or Prague or with a connecting flight from Moscow.
There are also high-speed intercity express train ”SAPSAN” or overnight train connections from Moscow.
If you do not have a Russian citizenship you should apply for the visa to visit Russian Federation.
You can easily apply for the visa in any travel agency. Please consult your travel agency
for more info.
