A few months ago I circulated a message asking for feedback on an information literacy model I was working on. Many thanks to everyone who responded.
The resulting model, InFlow (Information Flow): An integrated model of applied information literacy, is available at http://issuu.com/happinessdragon/docs/inflow_model__nov_13_ (or via email from [log in to unmask]).
InFlow is designed to be engaging for students and to support student-centred and individualised learning. It is focussed on authentic learning experiences and the production of creative, tangible outputs. Students are encouraged to engage with information in a variety of ways as they map, explore, ask, reflect, collaborate, imagine, show and make. The model is designed to adaptable for different age ranges. The model is designed to offer support for group projects and team working. However, each of the elements can also be carried out as an individual task as appropriate.
I hope to be able to produce this as an interactive, online version in the future, but please take a look at the pdf version in the meantime and if you have any comments or questions please get in touch. And if you try this model out with your students I'd be very interested in hearing about your experiences.
