We have also cancelled all of our RCN titles. This change in policy would have resulted in us paying more than double our previous subscription costs.

Thankfully we have some very understanding academics here who were happy to support us in the decision to cancel.

No you're not. We've seen a similar price hike and have taken the decision to cancel this and other titles from RCN purely on the basis of their extortionate and unrealistic pricing for 2014.

We've been told that institutions will no longer be able to purchase print-only subscriptions to Royal College of Nursing titles such as NURSING STANDARD, but instead will have to purchase institutional site licenses. In our case, that would push up the price of a subscription to NURSING STANDARD from approx. £277 (print only) to £1,875(+VAT) for print+online site licence. We surely can't be the only ones who feel this is totally unacceptable and are cancelling.
