italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The Modern Humanities Research Association is looking for a second postgraduate editor for its online journal, MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities (http://www.mhra.org.uk/ojs/index.php/wph). This journal was launched in 2006 and is aimed at early career researchers and postgraduates.
The successful applicant will also serve as a second postgraduate representative to the MHRA Executive Committee, attending committee meetings (normally held in London) and advising on postgraduate matters. As it is envisaged that in future years the journal will be linked to a postgraduate conference, the position is also likely to involve an element of conference organisation. For further information about the work of the MHRA see www.mhra.org.uk<http://www.mhra.org.uk>.
This position starts in January 2014 and ends in December 2015. Whilst unpaid, it offers invaluable experience in the world of academic publishing, as well as representing a chance to work constructively for the future of the Humanities more broadly. Applications are welcome from postgraduates working in any of the 'modern humanities', defined as relating to the modern and medieval languages, literatures and cultures of Europe (including English and the Slavonic languages, and the cultures of the European diaspora).
Applicants should send a CV and cover letter, together with a letter of support from their supervisor, as email attachments to Dr B. Burns ([log in to unmask]), Honorary Secretary, by 15 December 2013. Informal enquiries are welcome and may be addressed to the current representative, Elizabeth Benjamin, at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
