Dear Philip,
There is a local scheme being implemented in Norfolk and one already running in
Dorset (along the Jurassic Coast at least) and there may be others elsewhere.
Personally I think it would be a great idea, along the lines of the Portable
Antiquites Scheme. But I doubt anyone has much time to do this in addition to
their current workload. Fresh funding would have to be found. If you fancy a
trip to Great Yarmouth this saturday there is a talk on the scheme in Norfolk
as part of a Fossil Roadshow event, see the flier attached.
Perhaps this topic should be discussed at the GCG meeting in Canterbury on
December 3rd & 4th? They are still looking for one or two speakers.
