Dear members of the Forced Migration discussion list,
Please note that Department for Diaspora of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Faculty of Political Science of the University in Sarajevo published jointly the proceedings of the international research workshop, held in Sarajevo in September 2012, under the title "Migration from Bosnia and Herzegovina" in Bosnian, Serbian, Croatian and English. This workshop was co-funded by TAIEX and Swiss Development Cooperation Office, whereas the publishing and translation of the proceedings received funding from the Swiss Development Cooperation Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We gathered a number of researchers, including the ones originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who have conducted research on migration issues related to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they kindly agreed to share pieces of their research on this subject with the wider public in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
An English version of the publication "Migration from Bosnia and Herzegovina" is available at http://www.mhrr.gov.ba/iseljenistvo/Istrazivanja/default.aspx?id=3695&langTag=bs-BA
We hope that this publication will encourage all key stakeholders providing development assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina to include the area of linking BiH migrants' vast resources to development of our country in a way which will enhance benefit to the migrants themselves, as well as to their host societies. We also hope that further research will be encouraged within Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond on the issue of migration and development, which we consider very important indeed.
Should you need any additional information on this publication or any information that our Department of Diaspora of the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina is mandated with by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (i.e. "creating the policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina on her diaspora"), please do not hesitate to contact us to the following e-mail addresses: [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]
