Applications are invited for a full-time researcher to work on the ‘Welfare Conditionality: Sanctions, Support and Behaviour Change’ project. Funded under the Economic and Social Research Council’s Centres and Large Grants Scheme, the project aims to create an international and interdisciplinary focal point for social science research on the efficacy and ethicality of welfare conditionality.
The post holder will be part of a broader collaborative team and will work with both Professor Peter Dwyer (University of York) and Professor John Flint (University of Sheffield). With relevant previous experience of conducting qualitative research, the successful applicant will have the research skills required to successfully organise, undertake and analyse in-depth interviews and focus groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required.
As a minimum requirement you should hold a postgraduate qualification in social policy, public policy, urban studies, sociology or related subject. Experience in conducting qualitative longitudinal research and/or a PhD in a relevant area may be advantageous.
