Dear All,
may I ask for your help? For his poem "Litany" Billy Collins uses the
following two lines from a poem by the Belgian poet Jacques Crickillon -
both as the epigraph and the first two lines:
You are the bread and the knife,
The crystal goblet and the wine.
Does someone know the title of the Crickillon poem? I would also be very
grateful if somebody could send me the poem with the bibliographical
details.
Sorry to interrupt the fascinating discussion on print / web duplication
and book sales. Will probably comment later, because as editor and
publisher (Poetry Salzburg, Poetry Salzburg Review) one tends to see
some of these aspects one is concerned with every day from a rather
different perspective. But - for one thing - I entirely agree with Tim's
recent email that magazines only survive if they are being read and bought.
Best wishes from Salzburg in snow,
Wolfgang
