In the ASLIB magazine Managing Information volume 20 issue 7, AKISS speakers Mike Merritt-Holmes and Steve Jenkins will feature as interviewees discussing the theme of the session they will present at AKISS - 'This thing called Big Data'. The interview includes a consideration of what Big Data is, how it has evolved and what you have to do to get the best out of it.
AKISS will be held on the 5 – 6 December 2013 at The British Library, London. The afternoon of day one of the conference is devoted exclusively to Big Data and will also feature the following speakers:
*Robert Bond, Partner, Head of Data Protection & Information Security and Notary Public, Speechly Bircham will discuss Big Data and Privacy Implications.
*Peter Kent, UK Information Projects Manager, Macmillan Cancer Support, will look at the potential benefits, and challenges, of Big Data in the health field.
