We are sorry to announce the passing of Sybille van der Sprenkel, who
made a substantial contribution to the study and teaching of Chinese
legal history and most noted for her book "Legal Institutions in Manchu

Dear Michel and Sarah,
I've been informed that Sybille van der Sprenkel died peacefully on 16
November at the Petworth nursing home where she was living, and the
funeral is on Thursday 5 December at 11 am at Chichester Crematorium -
refreshments afterwards at Chichester Park Hotel. Donations to the
Alzheimer Society.
