Dear all,
I would like to share our recently updated citation guidance with you:
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/citing-documents.htm
The previous document had been published around 2004. The key changes are:
* References to PRO and HMC have been dropped
* We have introduced guidance to cite from specific item references (previous citation was done at the higher 'piece' level)
* Rules around the citation of folios, rotuli and membranes have been checked and clarified
* The document makes some reference to digital records and provides guidance for the citation of TNA catalogue webpages
The update addresses questions raised by researchers over the years.
Regards
Jone
