Quite right but in the absence of IQC and EQA, it's the only indication that the device is working within its technical specification. CPA standards state that IQC/EQA should be performed where available. If they are not available then the next best thing applies. Obviously when selecting a device you would rate a system with IQC and EQA higher than one without.

Hi Peter
I have had a demonstration of the analyser. No IQC/EQA is a concern but I think the meter runs an internal check before testing. I cannot offer any further help as I haven't seen this equipment in use clinically.
