Just a quick reply - I have to get back to Δελφοί. The Irishness is stated by von Feilitzen without details. Is he just giving the most likely origin for a Cheshire name otherwise not obviously OE?

Here again, our oracle's wisdom has to be used with care. DB Belam is the Irish name Beollan, cf. Olof von Feilitzen, The Pre-Conquest Personal Names of Domesday Book (Uppsala, 1937), p. 193. The Latin accusative is irrelevant here.
